After arriving at the seaside (continuing on the last post), nature put on a great show. Incredible sunset colours over Oulu and in the water, a double rainbow on the other side and lots and lots of rain.
The last photo is a 360 degree panorama.
Countless water drops great wonderful shades
Oulu bathing in colours
Double rainbow (the outer one is faint but visible)
When the sunset hit the rain last night, I almost couldn’t believe the colours. The sky was on a superglow in countless shades from yellow to blue. And so my plan to stay home naturally failed and so I went to the seaside. Well, not without stopping a couple of times.. 🙂
Following up on the previous post, here are two more photos taken after the sunset. At first it seemed that the clouds wouldn’t pick up much of the the warm colours. The structure of the clouds made me stay a bit longer and soon a orange-pink band would stretch gently across the horizon. A touch of purple appeared and got more and more powerful. I gotta admit, auroras came into my mind; when I stood there feeling the glow and now writing this post. It’s causing similar feelings, making my heart beat faster and watching in awe.
Tomorrow I’m off to continue my studies, so I wish you already now a wonderful, glowing weekend 🙂
Last night I worked on an assigment for my photography studies and after the sunset started to show it’s colors. This is around sunset time and it’s then when the afterglow slowly builds. The wood in the foreground is part of the rowing boat marina.
Every year the ice of the Gulf of Bothnia melts as season changes from winter to spring. Strong wind and tide can then pile up countless pieces of ice at the shore. This year, however, I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I won’t complain after being so lucky last year 🙂 Here two photos of my series ‘Winter’s last stand‘:
In June we had a lot of rainy days here in Oulu area, about double than in average. While it would be great to have more sunny hours, all that humidity tends to rise up in the air after sunset. It so happened the other night on a field nearby my home. After raining a lot in the afternoon the skies cleared my camera (and I) was treated to this lovely view:
